Why choose organic?
Growing organically means no pesticides or chemically produced fertilisers are used in the production of the vegetables. Organic growers work respectfully with the natural cycles of the earth. Not only is organic food more nutrient-dense and better-tasting (than non-organic food), it’s actually better for the environment too. This is because organic farming protects the quality of the water, helps restore and maintain biodiversity and prevents soil erosion.
Why buy local?
When you buy local you are supporting businesses and the people in your own community. This helps your own area to thrive, rather than some large corporation that’s based in another city or country. When you buy local and seasonal produce it hasn’t travelled as far to get to you. Therefore it’s fresher, and fresher always tastes better! Another perk of eating seasonally is it often cost less to buy, as what’s in season is more abundant.
